Alsager Town 2-2 Allscott Heath
Alsager Town kept fighting until the end and finally ended a run of ten consecutive defeats in all competitions at Wood Park.
First half
There were early signs that Alsager Town had been hard at work during a long break caused by two postponed matches, with some decent passing on display.
Goalkeeper Jack Perry was forced into a good save a few minutes into the game, but he was unable to prevent Luke Nicholls from putting the Bullets ahead after 18 minutes. The forward received a pass from Finley Rorke and was able to find the left corner of the net.
Nicholls had another chance when he dribbled down the left wing and cut inside before forcing Perry into a save with his curled effort.
Despite these promising signs, Allscott Heath struck back through Kian Newnes. The attacker’s shot was not aimed directly into the corner, but it was good enough to beat Dominic James.
Alsager did have one final half-chance before the interval as Taylor Swift got a shot away from the left side of the pitch. Unfortunately the winger dragged his shot narrowly wide of the right post, but it was close to hitting the target.

Second half
The hosts looked like a different team in the second half and for all the wrong reasons. There was a noticeable difference in their quality of passing and a foul was committed just before the hour mark inside the penalty area.
Armando Wood made no mistake with his spot kick and fired the ball into the top left corner, giving Allscott Heath the lead for the first time.
It continued to be one-way traffic and the visitors almost made it three with a superb long range effort which collided with the crossbar.
However, Alsager eventually warmed back into the game and there were appeals for a penalty when a foul was seemingly committed inside the box. However, the referee deemed the offence to have taken place just outside the area.
The Bullets did not lose heart after this setback and their fighting spirit paid off at the very end of the game. A free kick saw the ball make its way into the danger zone and Nicholls was able to find the net after a brief scramble. This concluded a closely contested battle and saw the points shared between the two teams.
