Alsager Town started the 2024/25 season with great promise, but unforeseen troubles caused the town’s highest ranking football club to fall down the First Division South table.
The Bullets were the league leaders early in the season and sat third in the league when every team had played half their league fixtures. However, the NWCFL posted a ‘stat of the day’ showing they were the second worst performing in the second half of the season.
Alsager had won 36 points after 17 matches, whilst achieving a win record of 65 per cent. However, the Wood Park outfit only managed to pick up an additional 10 points in their final 17 matches, recording a poor win record of 12 per cent.

This was largely down to co-managers Luke Goddard and Lee Duckworth leaving the club and joining Northwich Victoria. The pair had transformed the side, who finished 12th in the league the season before they arrived.
Matty Russell was placed in charge for much of the season, but he was tasked with building a team largely from scratch.
Despite a negative few months, Alsager will be hopeful of coming back stronger next season, with Warren Jones now in charge of the club. The new manager has previously been part of the coaching staff at Atherton Collieries AFC, Prescot Cables FC, Wythenshawe Town FC, and Atherton LR FC.
