The number of crimes reported to have taken place in Alsager have fallen since the beginning of this year, according to the Police crime map.
Alsager News previously reported that crime surged by 56 per cent in 2024 in comparison with the previous year. However, January and February this year have seen fewer crimes reported than last December.
A total of 69 crimes were reported in December 2024, while there were nearly 20 per cent fewer reports of crime in January 2025. The downward trend of crimes reported has continued, as the police were notified of 49 crimes in February.
However, more crimes were reported in the first two months of this year compared with January and February last year.
Like December, violent and sexual offences remained the most common crimes to be reported in January and February.
While these figures are taken from the official police website, it is worth noting that not all crimes committed are reported to the police.
