Alsager has seen a significant rise in the number of crimes being reported to the police, according to the police crime map.
The rate of crimes reported in the area rose by more than half in 2024 compared with the previous year.
The final three months of 2024 were a key contributor, accounting for 59 per cent of the overall crimes reported during the year. December was the worst month on record for crime in Alsager with 69 offences reported to the police.
Anti-social behaviour remained the most commonly reported crime in Alsager last year, but violent and sexual offences were not far behind. In December 2024, the most recent month on record, violent and sexual offences accounted for 62 per cent of the overall crime.
