The amount residents will be charged for failing to pay to park in Alsager has been revealed by Alsager Town Council.
Charges were announced for car parks across Cheshire earlier this year, with Alsager affected, including Fairview Car Park which many residents use to shop in the town centre.
It was revealed at the last Town Council meeting that Civil Engagement Officers will punish those who do not pay to park, while monitoring both off and on-street parking.
Those who park and do not pay will be fined £50, but this will be halved if paid within 14 days.
The charge for wrongly parking in a disabled space is more expensive, costing £70, with the fine needing to be paid within two weeks.
To make sure those who live by the Station Road and Well Lane car parks still have somewhere to leave their cars, resident permits will be introduced, costing £80 a year for one car and an additional £95 for a second.
Once the charges are introduced, Alsager’s car parks will remain free to use after 3pm, but this could soon change, as Cheshire East may start charging on evenings and Sundays. If this happens, it will be around Christmas for the Well Lane and Station Road car parks, but could be sooner at Fairview.
