Residential parking is one of the council’s concerns. It is considering whether to contest new charges at the Well Lane resident’s car park. The car park has always been free to use by residents until now.

The council wants parking permits to be introduced for residents and businesses. The cost of the charges will hit them the hardest as they need to use the car parks most days of the week.

Concerns have also been raised about a one-way system proposed for Shady Grove and Wesley Place. The council opposes this change unless a pavement can be installed to keep pedestrians safe.
The council says it will work with residents and local groups to “collect evidence and data that will be required to influence Cheshire East,” to take on board the council’s views.
